HotS help guide
Where are Heroes of the Storm replay files saved?
Last updated 29 October 2026
HotS creates replay files automatically
Heroes of the Storm creates a .StormReplay file when you finish a game and saves it on your computer. You can watch the match again through the game's Watch tab. The file holds match data such as the players, heroes, talents, and result.
MercStats uses those files to build profiles and statistics. One uploaded replay contributes a match for every player in that game, so a teammate or opponent can also help fill in your profile.
Windows replay-folder location
Open File Explorer and look in Documents → Heroes of the Storm → Accounts. Inside are numbered account folders, followed by player folders such as 2-Hero-1-1234567. Open the appropriate player folder, then Replays → Multiplayer.
To open the usual Accounts folder directly, press Windows + R, paste the first path below, and press Enter. The second path shows the full folder structure; the account and player names are placeholders for your own folders.
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Heroes of the Storm\Accounts
Documents\Heroes of the Storm\Accounts\<account ID>\<player folder>\Replays\Multiplayer
OneDrive or a moved Documents folder
If OneDrive backs up Documents, your replays may be in OneDrive's Documents folder instead. Try the path below. If you moved Documents to a different drive or use a different OneDrive folder name, open your actual Documents folder in File Explorer and look for Heroes of the Storm there.
%USERPROFILE%\OneDrive\Documents\Heroes of the Storm\Accounts
macOS replay-folder location
In Finder, press Command + Shift + G, paste the path below, and press Return. Open your account folder and player folder, then Replays → Multiplayer. Go to Folder lets you open Library even when it is hidden in Finder.
~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/Heroes of the Storm/Accounts
Linux with Wine or Proton
Find the Windows prefix used by your Battle.net or Heroes of the Storm installation. Look inside its Windows user folders for Documents → Heroes of the Storm → Accounts, then follow the account and player folders to Replays → Multiplayer. The prefix location depends on your launcher and installation, so there is no single Linux path that fits everyone.
Upload the files to MercStats
Once you have found your replays, you can upload them on the website or opt in to automatic uploads in Companion.
- Open the MercStats Replays page and select or drag in your .StormReplay files. You can choose multiple files or use the folder option.
- Start the upload and watch the upload panel until each replay is imported, skipped, or failed. Accepted replays may still be waiting in the processing queue.
- Search for your BattleTag in the correct region after processing finishes. Check your season, hero, and game-mode filters if a match is missing.
- For Companion, select the Accounts folder to cover its replay subfolders, or choose a narrower folder, then enable automatic uploads if you want them.
If the folder looks empty
Check the other account and region folders if you play on more than one. Sort Multiplayer by date to find recent files, and use the game's Watch tab to identify the match you want. Replays live on the computer where the game saved them, so also check the device you played on.
If you can find the replay but MercStats cannot import it, keep the upload error message and ask us on Discord for help.
