Player profiles
Why can't I find my player profile?
Your player profile needs at least one processed replay from a match you played in. If no replay includes you yet, MercStats has no match data to build your profile from. Creating a MercStats account or connecting Blizzard does not import your match history.
Upload a recent replay from one of your matches, wait for it to finish processing, then search for your BattleTag in the correct region. A replay uploaded by another player in your match can also make your profile appear.
Why are some of my matches missing?
MercStats can only show matches that have reached us through replay uploads and finished processing. We do not automatically receive every game you play from Blizzard or other stats sites. Upload your missing replays, or enable automatic uploads in MercStats Companion for future matches.
Also check your selected region, season, heroes, and game modes. Filters can hide matches that are already available.
Is my MercStats account the same as my player profile?
Your MercStats account is your website sign-in. Your player profile is built from Heroes of the Storm replay data. To claim an existing player profile, sign in with a verified email, connect the matching Blizzard account, and use the claim option on your profile. Claiming a profile does not import missing games.
Replay uploads
What is a replay file?
Heroes of the Storm automatically creates a .StormReplay file when you finish a game and saves it on your computer. The game handles this for you. The file contains match data, including the players, heroes, talents, and result, which lets the game replay the match.
MercStats reads that saved match data to build player profiles and statistics. Uploading one replay contributes data for all the players in that match.
Where is my replay folder?
Heroes of the Storm saves matches as .StormReplay files. On Windows, open File Explorer and look inside your Documents folder:
Documents\Heroes of the Storm\Accounts\<account ID>\<player folder>\Replays\Multiplayer
You can also press Windows + R, paste the following, and press Enter to open the usual Accounts folder:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Heroes of the Storm\Accounts
Open your numbered account folder, then the player folder (for example, 2-Hero-1-1234567), then Replays → Multiplayer. If you play on multiple accounts or regions, you may have several folders. The game's Watch tab can help you identify the match you want.
If OneDrive backs up Documents, check %USERPROFILE%\OneDrive\Documents\Heroes of the Storm\Accounts. If you moved Documents to another drive, use that location instead.
On macOS, open Finder, press Command + Shift + G, and paste:
~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/Heroes of the Storm/Accounts
Then follow the account and player folders to Replays → Multiplayer. On Linux with Wine or Proton, look for the same Heroes of the Storm folder inside your game's Windows prefix; its location depends on your launcher and installation.
For Companion, you can select the Accounts folder to cover the replay folders beneath it, or select a narrower folder. For a manual upload, choose the .StormReplay files from Multiplayer.

How do I upload replays?
Open Replays, select or drag in your .StormReplay files, and start the upload. You can select multiple files or use the folder option. Watch the upload panel for the result of each replay.
For automatic uploads, install Companion, select your replay folder, and opt in to automatic uploads. It waits for completed replay files before sending them.
My upload was accepted. Why haven't my stats changed?
Accepted means the replay has entered the processing queue. Your profile and stats can update after it finishes importing. Check the upload panel for whether the replay is still processing, was imported, was skipped, or failed. Processing time can vary with the queue.
What if the same match is uploaded more than once?
MercStats detects duplicate matches so they do not count twice. A replay may be skipped because you, a teammate, or an opponent already uploaded that game.
What should I do if a replay fails?
Check the message in the upload panel and make sure you selected a completed .StormReplay file. If it keeps failing, contact us on Discord with the error message, game version if known, and whether you uploaded through the website or Companion.
MercStats Companion
Why does Windows warn me when I download or open Companion?
Windows Defender SmartScreen checks the reputation of downloaded apps and their publishers. Companion is still in beta, and new or less widely downloaded releases can trigger an unrecognized-app warning when Windows has not established enough trust in the download or publisher.
We plan to address this as part of bringing Companion out of beta. Signing and building a trusted publisher reputation are part of that work; even a signed release can initially show a SmartScreen warning while its reputation builds.
Use the download links on our official Companion page. If you are unsure about a warning, share its exact wording with us on Discord before proceeding.

Do I need Companion to use MercStats?
You can browse the site and upload replays manually without Companion. Companion is an optional desktop app for match context and replay uploads. Automatic uploading is a separate opt-in choice that you control.
Stats and support
Why do the stats look different from other sites?
MercStats calculates its replay statistics from the matches uploaded to us. Other sites may use a different stats provider with a larger dataset than ours currently has, so we are comparing different samples of games.
Patch, game mode, region, rating filters, and calculation methods can also change the result. Check the filters and game counts before comparing numbers. Every replay you contribute helps improve our coverage.
How much should I trust a win rate with only a few games?
A small sample can change sharply after just a few wins or losses. Read the game count alongside a win rate, and treat low-sample results as an early signal. A hero or talent with no data has not been observed in the selected sample; that does not mean it is weak or never played.
What is the best way to contact you or suggest a feature?
Our Discord is the best place for questions, bug reports, and feature ideas. For a bug, include the page URL, what you expected, what happened, and a screenshot or error message if useful. For Companion issues, include your operating system and app version too.
Who should I contact about my data or a profile removal?
For personal-data or removal requests, follow our privacy policy and email [email protected] with the relevant MercStats page URL or replay ID. Please keep account details and other private information out of public Discord channels.
