Does Valeera’s 100% talent win rate mean it is the best pick?
Last updated 30 October 2026
Two wins are not enough to settle a talent choice
Combat Readiness shows a 100% win rate in this MercStats sample. That means two wins from two games. Crippling Poison shows 37.5%, from three wins in eight games. Those percentages alone do not establish which talent you should pick in your next match.
This is a frozen worked example captured on 30 October 2026 at 19:27 UTC from the public Valeera talent endpoint: build 98348, all modes and all ratings, using the latest build available to that endpoint at retrieval. Live results can change as replays arrive. It is not a current-patch build recommendation.
| Talent | Wins / games | Win rate | Pick rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crippling Poison | 3 / 8 | 37.5% | 50% |
| Subtlety | 2 / 5 | 40% | 31.3% |
| Combat Readiness | 2 / 2 | 100% | 12.5% |
| Vigor | 0 / 1 | 0% | 6.3% |
One result would change the headline
One additional loss for Combat Readiness would turn two wins in two games into two in three: about 66.7%. That does not make the talent suddenly worse; it shows how unstable the original percentage was.
Every level 1 talent here has fewer than 10 games. None qualifies for MercStats’ highest-win-rate highlight. More observations would help, but a larger observational sample still would not isolate the talent’s effect from the players and drafts that selected it.
Why 31 hero games produce only 16 counted talent choices
The endpoint reports 31 Valeera appearances with an overall win rate of 48.4%, but only 16 recognized level 1 choices. Crippling Poison’s 50% pick rate therefore means eight of those 16 choices, not half of all 31 hero appearances.
The aggregate does not explain the 15 appearances without a recognized choice, so we cannot assign them a specific cause. Missing or unmatched observations are a reason to check each metric’s denominator before comparing it. The four talent counts add up to the 16 counted choices.
Bring the eye-test back into the decision
Use these numbers as a reason to look closer. In a replay, did the talent help you secure a kill, survive a trade, or solve the problem your draft faced? Could your team act on the opening you created? Was the result already heavily favored for another reason?
A useful play may not be obvious in a talent win-rate table. The eye-test helps add that context, while the replay numbers can challenge an impression formed from one memorable game. With this sample, the honest answer is that we need more evidence before calling a statistical winner.
